Firsts

We returned from the beach and Mama started potty training Richie with various rewards and must to my surprise, it stuck! He took to Number 1 pretty quickly/consistently. The first say was good with Number 2 but then we reverted for a few days. About two weeks later, he's wearing big-boy undies without incidents and only in diapers at sleep-time which rare utilization!

In the mean time, I have started my fellowship, but I've spent most of my time in mandatory orientation. I have signed-off on my first films as an attending. Next week I was work one day at one of our community hospitals as an attending reading all of the plain films. It's a brave new world!

So, I'm looking at my old pictures to see what to post and I see that January to Rehoboth, there's nothing. :-) Can't imaging what I was busy doing...Well, here are some old movies:

Oh, and least I forget to mention. This high today from our outside thermometer was 112. The high in the shade was 104. It's now 9:00 PM and it's still 99. Lovely!

Today, Richie announced that watching the "Animal Movie" (Disney's "The Wild") is his "favorite thing in the whole world."

We are as deflated as you are, grandparents.

Three years of no TV flushed down the toilet in just two days.

Rain ended early this morning and it warmed up nicely. We spent the morning at the beach, cooled off in the "house" over lunch, and then spent the evening at funland on the boardwalk. Now, it's story time and bedtime.

Another Quick Update

After 6 month of making my friends and family suffer with my lack of communication and absences, it finally paid off, hopefully. Here is my mom, ML and dad enjoying a fruit basket my wife and mom surprised me with for graduation.

Can't forget Richie! I think this was shortly after his nap.

As a special treat for Richie and ML, we went to Rehoboth Beach for vacation! Here's our first day on the beach.

Richie was clearly more comfortable this year than last year! The water, unfortunately, is still a little prohibitively cold.

Poor Richie

We took Richie out with my fellow residents for a happy hour dinner. We braved the weather and had a nice time getting home around 730p. Got Richie to bed and then we both collapsed. ML got up a couple of times at Richie's request and finally woke me at 1130p when she found out he had a fever of 104F. She gave him some Tylonol. He thanked her by promptly hurling all over her. Oh, did I mention that he ate like a champ tonight? Once she whisked him into the shower, I started to clean. I must have puked in my mouth at least a half dozen times. I guess all of the margaritas I drank with dinner were not helping me.

We finally got some Tylonol in him and his temp is down to 102.9. He's sleeping with mama in the big bed.

Poor kid.
