Weekend Update

Time for a little text while I have a little time.

1. Richie has started to, whine. And, like ML says, "Not the good kind." The majority of time it means that he's hungry, although he may choose to whine for an additional 5 minutes before actually being willing to eat. Other times, we cannot tell what is upsetting him, and then he usually makes a sticking poopie and is happy again.
2. His doctor was happy at his 4 month checkup. He officially weighs 15 lbs 15 oz. He cried for about 30 seconds after his shots, poor guy. And then we gave him his binky. After which, he has become much more accepting of his binky than before.
3. We bought him a couple more binkies that don't snap shut when they're out so he can put them in himself. He doesn't like them. I, however, do! It's oddly soothing. "Binky...it's not just for Ecstasy-users anymore."
4. Last night he started rolling over onto his tummy on his own. Unfortunately, he HATES tummy time and keeps waking us up to turn him back on his back.
5. The neighborhood fireworks were scaring him while he was trying to nap. The real fireworks, however, he really enjoyed! Pictures to come later.
6. It would seem that he's really starting to understand and remember words and music! Last week, ML took him to the public library where they do a bunch of little sing-a-longs and read stories. Richie would really light-up when he'd hear a song that we regularly sing to him. I think they were Old Mc Donald and You Are My Sunshine.
   
7. His sleeping reset a bit when he got his shots, but he's working his way back up to a respectable 7-8 hrs of straight sleep/night. Well, except for now he's rolling over. Time to start baby-proofing!
